LEARNING DISABILITIES

For over 30 years, Bramblings has been delivering specialist care and support for individuals with learning disabilities, autism, and mental health conditions. Our dedicated care teams are highly trained professionals, bringing extensive experience and a broad range of expertise across multiple areas of specialist support.

EVERYBODY IS UNIQUE

Communication involves giving, sending, and sharing information, but it’s not just about speaking — it’s equally about listening.

Individuals with a severe learning disability or profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD) typically require higher levels of care and support, particularly with mobility, personal care, and communication. Those with a moderate learning disability may also need assistance in these areas, though not necessarily to the same extent.  Here at Bramblings we take the time to develop a care plan just as individual as the person we are caring for.

LEARN TO LISTEN

“Sometimes the words are clear in my mind, and I’m doing my best to express them, but they don’t always come out the way I intend.”

personalised care

Bramblings offer personalised care and specialist support for individuals with mild, moderate, and more severe learning disabilities, often alongside additional needs such as physical disabilities, mental health conditions, or neurological disorders including epilepsy and dementia. Regardless of their needs, we treat each person as a unique individual, with dignity and respect, empowering them to live safe, fulfilling, and meaningful lives—and, where possible, to achieve positive outcomes.

Supportive intervention

Many people with a learning disability prefer one-on-one interactions when communicating. Bramblings staff take pride in their ability to sit and talk with the residents.

TESTIMONIALS

When an elderly person becomes unable to live independently, the decision regarding their care is a huge one. Thank goodness I found Bramblings. The care given to my mum was superb from the day she arrived.

The Decision Regarding Care Is Huge, Resident Care

To all the staff at Bramblings, thank you so much for showing mum such love and kindness in her time with you. I always felt so comforted that she was with you all and safe. It gave me time to do things I couldn’t have done if I was the carer. God Bless!

I Always Felt Comforted, Resident Care

Thank you to everyone at Bramblings for being so kind and caring and making not just Mum but the whole family feel welcome.

We Feel So Welcomed, Resident Care

From the moment we went into Bramblings we were welcomed by the staff. They treated Mum with respect and were so patient and caring. They take time to talk to the residents and give them a cuddle. Each and every member of the staff that I met from the manager, carers, cleaners and the excellent kitchen staff took time to talk to me. They are a very special group of caring people. If Mum has to have respite care again, I hope that she will have a place in Bramblings.

Staff Took Time To Talk To Me, Respite Care

Thank you for the wonderful way that everyone at Bramblings cared for my dad. It was his first experience of respite care and I was very concerned. There was no need to be! When I came to collect Dad it was obvious that his stay with you had done him the world of good. He was like a new person!

He Was Like A New Person!, Respite Care

Thank you all so much for the care, dedication and friendship you gave my mum and myself……You made it as near as possible to mum being in her own home.

Thank You All So Much For The Care, Respite Care
